Aahil Mohammad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mohammad fails with the takedown. A left and a right from Ponz both land. Nice combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#TD# Mohammad drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ponz wants to get back to his feet but Mohammad is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Mohammad is taking a break and basically stalling. Mohammad wants to take the fight to the mat but Ponz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aahil Mohammad. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mohammad tries for a takedown but Ponz manages to get underhooks.

Mohammad with the ground and pound from mount. Ponz's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Ponz is bucking up trying to escape but Mohammad cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Mohammad with good strikes from the mount here! A big strike lands for Mohammad! That's really hurt Ponz and he's turned his back - Mohammad keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Mohammad jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

#R1##CL# Ponz clinches up with The Great and pushes him back against the cage. The Great misses with a hook from the clinch. Ponz blocks an uppercut.
The Great jumps guard but Ponz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. #BC# Ponz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ponz tries to clinch up but The Great circles away and keeps his distance. The Great tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Ponz tries to bum rush The Great with a series of wild strikes but The Great uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ponz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ponz tries to get out of the position. The Great working the head and body with strikes. The Great slips a nice elbow through Ponz's hands, connecting with Ponz's forehead. Ponz is trying to stand back up but The Great is controlling him

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. #ROC2#Ponz is rocked! Ponz has hold of The Great's hands but The Great slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Oh Ponz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The Great lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Ponz quite badly. Ponz pulls The Great in close trying to recover. The Great postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Ponz on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Ponz doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ponz missing with a left hand there. Octavian was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. #KD# Oooooh!!! Ponz has knocked Octavian down with a huge combo! Ponz steps away and waves a wobbly Octavian back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC#Octavian is rocked!#CUT#It looks like Neculai Octavian has been cut. Kim Ponz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ponz cracks Octavian with a left hook right on the temple and Octavian goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Ponz lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Octavian is OK!
