Merry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fury to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fury is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Merry can't keep his opponent in guard - Fury advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fury with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Merry is trying to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fury drops an elbow to the side of Merry's head.
Fury not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1#
Fury seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Merry for as long as he can get away with.#T2#
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fury closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Merry wants to get back to his feet but Fury is dominant here and he's now got Merry's back!

A big right from Fury misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Fury misses the target.
Merry thuds his right hand into Fury's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Merry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fury sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fury with the counter takedown but Merry avoids it easily.
Merry swinging wildly here.

Merry tries to clinch up but Fury circles away and keeps his distance.

No joy there for Jond, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Fury on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A combination from Jond does no damage.
A quick step to the side and Fury tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tommy Fury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fury connects with the punch.
Fury definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fury jabs at Jond's body.
Jond staying out of range there.
Jond throws a nice looking combination but Fury bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jond lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fury circles away quickly and effectively.

Fury misses the jab.
Fury feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jonds jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jond takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Jond is still on wobbly legs! Can Fury finish him?
Jond walks straight into a right hand from Fury - that's dropped him! Fury jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jond from any more punishment! Jond complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Fury's corner calls for a 1-2. Fury obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Balboa shoots in but Fury avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Balboa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Balboa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fury paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fury blocks a head kick by Balboa.
Fury darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Fury punishes Balboa's body with a nice straight punch.
Balboa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Fury scores with a jab to the jaw.
Fury connects with a body shot that sends Balboa's belly button to the back.
Fury bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fury wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fury comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Balboa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A punch lands to the side of Balboa 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Fury jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Fury is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Balboa had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Balboa does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Fury lands with a hook. Balboa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. #ROC2#Balboa is rocked!
Fury walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Balboa drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Fury swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Balboa's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
