Thornton throws a big counter combination but Kipper scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Thornton tries a head kick but it misses.
Thornton tries to land a body kick#TD2# and Kipper counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Thornton! In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kipper working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.#SU2# Kipper decides to take the fight back to the feet. Thornton lands a jab. A punch lands to the side of Kipper 's head but he takes it in his stride. Thornton looks to land a body kick but Kipper moved away. Thornton scores with the left hand. Kipper knows he should have avoided that one. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thornton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Thornton feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kippers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Kipper looks winded! Kipper looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Horrible takedown attempt by Kipper or perhaps it was just good defense by Thornton, which made it look bad. Kipper closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Kipper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Thornton misses with a double jab.
Craig Thornton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kipper takes one on the button. Kipper keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Thornton. Thornton works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Thornton lands a nice shot to the body.

Thornton shoots in looking for a takedown. Kipper tries to sprawl out of it but Thornton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kipper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and Jiet counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Kipper out cold! What a finish! Jiet is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

#R1# McMahon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McMahon wants it to stay on the feet. Kipper tries to clinch up. Kipper dives in for a single leg takedown but McMahon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. McMahon tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Kipper looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reece Kipper. That's going to take a lot out of him. McMahon lands a hook to the side of the head. With the fighters clinched against the cage, McMahon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. McMahon misses with a hook from the clinch. And McMahon tries to counter it with a takedown but Kipper pushes his down on his head and steps out. Kipper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McMahon defends it nicely. Kipper tries to clinch there but McMahon circles away.
