#R1# Smith dives in and grabs McCoy's left leg, looking for a takedown. McCoy pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.#TD# McCoy gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. McCoy manages to retain guard. McCoy working a defensive guard here.
McCoy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Smith puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McCoy punching from the bottom.
Smith prevents McCoy from improving his position. McCoy is looking to control Smith's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McCoy avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McCoy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCoy is pressing down on Smith's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Smith stays in close to McCoy's body and controls the position. McCoy tries to land a sweep but no joy. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McCoy is on top in guard.

McCoy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard. McCoy preventing the sweep. McCoy postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it. Smith managing to control the position. McCoy landing some decent shots from guard. McCoy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Smith looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. McCoy is in close to Smith's body, working some short punches and elbows.#T3# McCoy wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells McCoy's corner. There ya go! There ya go! #ROC2#Smith is rocked!#SUB# Smith working for a triangle but McCoy defends it easily.
McCoy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Smith's head. McCoy looking to sit in guard and control but Smith gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. McCoy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there. #T4# Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McCoy is keeping the position for now. McCoy looking for a sweep. Not yet McCoy, not yet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCoy can do anything to dispel that myth. Smith content to stall in guard here. McCoy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard. #REVB# McCoy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Oh Smith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!#CUT2#It looks like Steve Smith has been cut. Hammerfist, elbow! yells McCoy's corner. There ya go! There ya go! McCoy stands up over Smith, holding on to his feet. McCoy throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Smith is out cold! McCoy lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

#R1##TD# Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Smith just content to control the position. #SUB# Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Weideman, who protects the arm well. Weideman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Smith. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is staying tight to Weideman's torso, preventing him from escaping. #T1# Check out the look on Smith's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Weideman being controlled for a moment. Weideman takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Smith remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Weideman is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Smith controls the position. Weideman looks winded!#T3# Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. This is a sustained period of stalling by Smith. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Smith scores with a couple of short elbows. Smith fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Weideman on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Weideman looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Smith lands a few punches from side control. Smith scoring with punches from side control. #T4# Smith is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Smith seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Weideman for as long as he can get away with. Weideman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Smith working the ground and pound from side control. Smith taking a breather here. Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Weideman tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith is looking to counter the offense by Weideman and move into the clinch.#TD# Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Smith looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith continues to hold on tight. Weideman is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Weideman on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. #T1# Smith with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. #SUB# Smith is looking for a kimura but Weideman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage. Smith stalling. Smith is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Smith passes to full mount! #T2# Smith controlling from mount. Smith landing punches. Smith content just to control the position here. Smith connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
#T3# Smith controlling his opponent. Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Weideman looks a forlorn figure.

#T4# Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith breaks from Weideman's wrist control and lands an elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

#TD# Smith pulls guard. Smith seems keen to control Weideman's posture. Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Steve Smith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Weideman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith is pushing down on Weideman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Weideman is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through.#T1# Weideman taking some punishment here, with Smith in his half guard. Weideman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Smith slows the pace down in half guard. Smith works his way into side control. Smith connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Weideman some visible discomfort.

#R1# Weideman throws a body shot but no joy. Smith throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
#CUT#It looks like Sebastiaan Weideman has been cut.#TD# Weideman tries to sprawl but Smith drives through with a takedown into half guard. Weideman manages to escape and get back to his feet! Smith avoids the head kick by Weideman.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A head kick misses from Weideman. Smith went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Weideman seems to be stalking Smith here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Smith drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

After the fight, Sebastiaan Weideman was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things.
