He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Furriel is trying to get back to half guard. Lutter wants to control but Furriel is keeping him busy. Furriel managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lutter.

#R1##TD2# Bibirano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. #R1# Furriel slips a jab from Hawking. Horrible takedown attempt by Furriel or perhaps it was just good defense by Hawking, which made it look bad. Hawking looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hawking misses with a looping left. Furriel closes the distance but Hawking moves to the side and Hawking counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Furriel with a poor takedown and Furriel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hawking takes a swing at Furriel's ribcage but misses. Furriel tries to counter by clinching up but Hawking breaks away and moves out of range. Furriel with a lazy takedown attempt and Hawking counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matheus Furriel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hawking punishes Furriel's body with a nice straight punch.#T1# Furriel takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Furriel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hawking. A counter left hand to the body from Furriel misses its target. Stephen Hawking is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Furriel avoids a lazy jab quite easily. As Hawking tries to get set, Furriel tries to push him back and clinch up but Hawking manages to avoid the attempt. His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Furriel goes for a double leg but Hawking avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hawking continues to drive forward. Furriel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Furriel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hawking throws a looping overhand right but Furriel ducks down to avoid it. Furriel attempts a counter takedown but Hawking avoids it well and moves away. Hawking connects with a body shot that sends Furriel's belly button to the back. Furriel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hawking swivels and escapes. Hawking digs a good body shot into Furriel's ribs. The fighters circling - Hawking throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Matheus Furriel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T3# Furriel fails with the takedown and Hawking connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Furriel looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.#KD2# Hawking feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Furriel sprawling to the canvas! Furriel rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hawking finish him?!

Furriel has his takedown stuffed and Doober connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#TD2# Furriel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Doober is trying to stand up here but Furriel is controlling him well. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Furriel connects with a nice short shot to Doober's temple. Doober wants to get back to his feet.
Furriel is keen to just control but Doober is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Doober pushes Furriel off, looking to escape but Furriel dives into side control. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Davi! Davi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Furriel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Furriel breaks from Davi's wrist control and lands an elbow. Davi is wriggling around trying to escape.
