#R1##TD2# Griscti gets caught napping as Adams dives in and scores a takedown. Griscti manages to retain guard. Griscti is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. #SU2# Adams gets to his feet - Griscti follows without any prompting. A looping hook to the body misses from Griscti. Adams does a little dance to reset his feet. Griscti scores with a punch to the head. Griscti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center. Adams takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Griscti tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Griscti throws a left and a right that both miss
#TD2# and Adams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Griscti is trying to escape back to his feet but Adams uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.#T1##SU2# Adams has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Adams takes one on the button.#TD2# Adams gets the takedown into side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Griscti gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Adams controlling from mount. #SU2# Adams is standing up, even though he is in mount. #T2# Adams steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Griscti. Adams appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Griscti scores with a hook to the body. Adams takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Griscti scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Adams doesn't seem bothered though. Griscti doesn't manage to clinch there - Adams circles away.
Adams tries to counter by closing the distance. Griscti scores with a sloppy right hand. Adams should have avoided that one. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Griscti swings widly with a right hand
#TD2# and Adams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Adams controls the pace of the fight for a moment.#T3##REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.#T4# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Griscti scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Adams looks winded! Griscti misses the jab. Adams is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Adams takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Griscti scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Griscti lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.#TD2# Adams gets a takedown into half guard.#SU2# Adams postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Griscti to stand up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Cikku Griscti will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.#R2# Griscti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Griscti changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Cikku Griscti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griscti lands a nice shot to the body.
Griscti fails with an attempt to clinch.
Adams feints the counter takedown. Griscti tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The fight stays on the outside here - Griscti looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Griscti dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Griscti cracks Adams with a right hand to the side of the head.#TD2# Adams gets a double leg takedown into Griscti's guard.#SU2# Adams gets to his feet. Griscti looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! #T1# Adams's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Griscti connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Adams scrambles back to his feet. Justin Adams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Griscti bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Adams's head backwards. Griscti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Adams was well out of range. Poor timing from Griscti. Griscti connects with a right hand. Adams shakes it off. Griscti keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Griscti scores with a jab. Adams is breathing heavily. Adams walks into a jab. A decent looking cross lands there for Griscti.#ROC#Adams is rocked! Griscti fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Adams looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Adams is still on wobbly legs! Can Griscti finish him? Griscti drops Adams with a straight right hand, right on the button! Griscti follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cikku Griscti! An out of breath Cikku Griscti thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. |
