Michael Lanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lanson swats away the attempt to clinch by Rom. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lanson!
Rom displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lanson. Rom blocks a jab. Rom avoids the body shot from Lanson.
Lanson tries to bum rush Rom with a series of wild strikes but Rom uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rom drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lanson sprawls and moves away. Rom shoots for a double leg takedown but Lanson sprawls well. He's pushed Rom's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rom is defended easily by Lanson. Lanson throws a chopping leg kick but Rom manages to avoid taking any serious damage. It looked like Rom was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Michael Lanson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rom. Jorge Rom is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lanson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Jorge Rom has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A punch combination from Lanson misses.

#R1##TD2# Lanson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Munoz on his heels. He'll look to pass Munoz's guard now, I'm sure.#SUB# Munoz is looking for a triangle but Lanson pushes his legs off easily.
Lanson throwing strikes but missing. Lanson preventing the sweep. Lanson wants to stand but Munoz is controlling his posture from full guard. #SUB# Munoz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lanson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lanson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Munoz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lanson controls the pace. Lanson works over Munoz with some ground and pound from guard. Lanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Munoz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Munoz has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lanson doesn't defend quickly enough and Munoz has managed to lock this one up! Can Lanson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Munoz on a fantastic submission victory.
