#R1##TD2# Virta closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Salazar can't do much from the bottom here. #SUB2# Virta wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Salazar, who protects the arm well. Virta working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB2# Virta is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Salazar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. #SUB2# Virta tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Virta has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! #SUB2# Virta is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Salazar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Salazar is trying to control Virta's posture but Virta avoids it. #T1##SUB2# Virta has hold of Salazar's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Salazar seems comfortable defending it but Virta has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Salazar is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Salazar is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Virta couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jari Virta! A very excited looking Jari Virta rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. |
