Oswald fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bayat looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.#TD2# Oswald closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Oswald wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bayat keeps working. Bayat definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Oswald controlling the position from side mount. Oswald throwing strikes but missing, from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oswald throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bayat is breathing heavily. Oswald is looking to take a break and control but Bayat is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Oswald lands a nice short elbow.#ROC2#Bayat is rocked! Oswald lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Bayat quite badly. Bayat pulls Oswald in close trying to recover. Oswald postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Bayat on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Bayat doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

#R1# Bayat doesn't succeed with the takedown and Slasher counters with a right hand to the body. Bayat fails with a takedown attempt. Nice straight punches there by Slasher. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Slasher.#CUT#It looks like Ziyaan Bayat has been cut. Slasher walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Bayat drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Slasher swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Bayat's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

#R1# The fight stays on the outside here - Bayat looks like he's thinking about clinching though.#CL# Bacon moves into the clinch. Bayat wants to stall.
Bacon lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bayat backwards. #BC# Bacon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#CL# Bacon closes the distance and pushes Bayat back into the cage. Bayat goes for a takedown attempt but Bacon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#CL# Bacon moves into the clinch. Bayat drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bacon pulls his leg out and moves away.
#T1# Bayat takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.#TD2# Bayat gets the takedown into side control. Bacon explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Bacon throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bacon feints a jab promting Bayat to slip. Bacon then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bayat slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#ROC#Bayat is rocked! Bacon is stalking Bayat. Bayat circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Bacon, and it's lights out! Bayat really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ed Bacon! Ed Bacon spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. In defeat, Ziyaan Bayat stepped up to the mic, saying 'These things happen but hopefully I will come back stronger inshallah!'. |
