#R1# Peterson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ahlander defends it nicely. Ahlander swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Ahlander throws a leg kick #TD# and Peterson counters with a single leg into guard. Ahlander didn't expect that. Peterson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peterson with a nice head shot there. Peterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Peterson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. #T1# Peterson forces his way into half guard. Peterson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Ahlander is trying to stand up here but Peterson is controlling him well. #T2# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Peterson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Peterson blocks a low kick nicely. Peterson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ahlander, as that shot connected.
Peterson tries to clinch but Ahlander is having none of it. Ahlander shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Ahlander lands a right hook to the body.

#T3# Ahlander moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Ahlander connects with a body shot. Peterson ducks under a wild hook from Ahlander. Ahlander tries to clinch there but Peterson circles away.
#TD# Peterson looking to score a takedown here. Ahlander is defending well but Peterson drives through and ends up in Ahlander's guard. Ahlander is looking to stand back up but Peterson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ahlander. We've been informed that Ahlander has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Peterson sitting and controlling from the half guard. #T4# We've been hearing good reports from Peterson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Peterson moves into full mount! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Peterson controlling the position easily from mount. Peterson fails with a takedown attempt. Peterson shoots for a double leg takedown but Ahlander sprawls well. He's pushed Peterson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ahlander throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Peterson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A low kick from Ahlander is predictable there #TD# and Peterson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ahlander won't be happy with that. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Peterson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ahlander lands a really nice looking cross but Peterson seems unphased.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phoenix Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ahlander lands a lovely overhand right. Peterson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Nicklas Ahlander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peterson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ahlander sprawls well. Ahlander wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Peterson gets slowly back to his feet.#T3# Ahlander misses the shot to the body. Peterson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ahlander pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ahlander connects with a right hand. Peterson shakes it off. Ahlander lands a glancing blow to the side of Peterson's head. Ahlander misses with a low kick.
#T4# Ahlander lands a jab to Peterson's midsection. Peterson closes the distance and clinches up with Ahlander, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes Ahlander against the cage but Ahlander circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ahlander is looking to chop away at Peterson's legs. Peterson feinted with a counter takedown. Ahlander stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peterson is defended easily by Ahlander. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peterson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Nicklas Ahlander showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Peterson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Peterson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Peterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Peterson is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ahlander wants to get back to his feet but Peterson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. #T1# Peterson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Peterson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ahlander for as long as he can get away with. Ahlander has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nicklas Ahlander is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ahlander tries to land a leg kick but Peterson saw it coming and moves away.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ahlander. Ahlander scores with a punch to the head. Peterson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ahlander keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ahlander wants to clinch up but Peterson keeps it at a distance. Ahlander throws a nice looking combination but Peterson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Peterson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ahlander defends well and Peterson ends up having to push Ahlander into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Peterson wants a takedown.

Peterson has Ahlander pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ahlander manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Ahlander.
And that's the end of the fight! Nicklas Ahlander comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ahlander has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

#R1# Peterson fails with the takedown and Peterson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Travolta connects with the punch. Travolta circles away from the clinch attempt.
Peterson doesn't succeed with the takedown#CL2# and Travolta counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Travolta. Travolta prevents Peterson from breaking the clinch. Travolta lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Travolta scores with a nice hook to the head.#BC2# Travolta breaks the clinch.
Travolta defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Peterson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phoenix Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Travolta's corner calls for a 1-2. Travolta obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Travolta lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Peterson darts in trying to clinch and Travolta counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Oh Peterson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Peterson misses with a takedown attempt and Travolta counters with a huge left! Peterson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Travolta isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Peterson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Travolta!
