Wickline closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Davies's guard.
Davies pushes Wickline off and scrambles back to his feet.
Osian Davies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2#

Wickline decides to stand back up. Wickline steps back and let's Davies get back to his feet.
Wickline on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Davies stuns Wickline with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wickline gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Wickline tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Davies is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Wickline buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Wickline!! Wickline is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Davies throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Wickline sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Thompson's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wickline in particular looking to stall.

It looks like Wickline might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#SUB2#
Wickline is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thompson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wickline.
Wickline uses his free foot to push down on Thompson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Thompson. #T2#

Thompson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wickline up against the cage.
