This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Dimitri Magomedov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ash Lake! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#CL# Magomedov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. #TD# Magomedov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Magomedov (2) vs (0) Lake Magomedov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lake really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magomedov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Magomedov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Magomedov (5) vs (0) Lake The referee asks Magomedov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Magomedov prefers to stall for the moment though. Lake is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magomedov just content to control the position. #T1##SUB# Magomedov is trying to get an arm triangle but Lake is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lake is letting Magomedov control him for a moment. Lake felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Lake is looking for a sweep. Magomedov happy to just control the position for now. #T2# Lake tries to improve position but can't. Lake is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Magomedov is staying tight to Lake's torso, preventing him from escaping. Lake tries to bench press Magomedov off him but Magomedov keeps the position. A lull in the action here as Magomedov stalls from top position.#T3# Lake prevents Magomedov from moving into mount. Magomedov has knee on belly and moves into mount. Score +2 for reaching mount: Magomedov (7) vs (0) Lake Magomedov controlling his opponent. Magomedov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lake can do anything to dispel that myth.#T4# Magomedov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lake for as long as he can get away with. Magomedov looking to control but Lake is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Magomedov prevents Lake from getting the reversal.#T5# Magomedov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. #SUB# Magomedov has hold of Lake's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lake manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Magomedov wants to control the pace but Lake is squirming around nicely. Lake wants to control but Magomedov is having none of it. Magomedov controlling from the full mount. #T6##SUB# Magomedov has control of Lake's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lake regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lake manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
#T7# Magomedov tries to control but Lake wriggling away. Magomedov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T8# Lake tries to hold on but Magomedov pushes him away. Lake keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
#SUB# Magomedov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lake is now in Magomedov's guard. A big mistake from Magomedov there, giving up the dominant position! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Magomedov (7) vs (2) Lake Magomedov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. #SUB# Magomedov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lake defends it easily.#T9##SUB2# Lake is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Magomedov keeping moving, preventing Lake from controlling successfully. Magomedov looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lake trying to control but Magomedov is working from the bottom. Magomedov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lake's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Magomedov (9) vs (2) Lake#T10##SUB# Magomedov drops back looking for a leg! Lake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lake manages to kick Magomedov off! Magomedov jumps back into Lake's guard. Magomedov sitting in guard, not really doing much. Magomedov is pushing down on Lake's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lake is fighting to maintain full guard but Magomedov has managed to sneak the leg through. Magomedov controlling the action here. #T11##SUB2# Lake looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Magomedov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Magomedov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Magomedov wants to pass to mount but Lake is defending the position. Lake is looking to improve his position.
#T12# Magomedov works his way into full mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Magomedov (12) vs (2) Lake Magomedov controlling from mount. This is a sustained period of stalling by Magomedov. Magomedov prevents Lake from getting the reversal. Magomedov controlling his opponent. #T13# Magomedov continues to stall. Lake wants to hold on but Magomedov pushes him away.#SUB# Magomedov is working for a guillotine from mount but Lake frees his head quite easily.

#R1# Lake throws a good cross that connects.
#TD# Lake feints and as Naragami raises his hands in defense, Lake changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Naragami controls Lake momentarily but Lake frees himself. Lake knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Naragami on the ground. Lake working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. #SUB2# Naragami is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lake is aware though and is defending well. Lake trying to control the position from guard on top but Naragami is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB2# Naragami is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lake has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#SUB2# Naragami is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lake rolls with it to try and escape but Naragami cranks on the arm and Lake is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

#R1# Jab, jab by Lake - just one landing. #TD2# Lake drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hasek struggling a bit here. Hasek regains half guard, as Lake was trying to land strikes. Hasek is refusing to be controlled, as Lake sits in half guard. Hasek gets full guard. Lake really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hasek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hasek is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lake working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Hasek pulls Lake in close to his closed guard and prevents Lake from doing any damage or advancing position. Hasek is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.#T1# Lake trying to control the position from guard on top but Hasek is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lake working some strikes from top position. Hasek is pulling down on Lake's head. It's preventing any offense from Lake, at least for the moment.#SUB# Lake content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Hasek has locked up a guillotine! Hasek's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Lake is holding on here and Hasek must be using up a lot of energy. Lake has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Hasek gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

#R1# Lake lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leung circles away quickly and effectively. No luck with that takedown attempt from Leung. Lake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leung paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lake misses with a hook
#TD# and Leung counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lake! Lake throws Leung to one side and escapes!#TD# Leung feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lake can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Leung stays in close to Lake's body and controls the position. Leung's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Lake is looking to stand up but Leung isn't so interested in that idea. #T1# Leung sitting in guard here, content to control. Leung seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lake for as long as he can get away with. Leung pushing down on Lake's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Leung trying to control the pace. Leung looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Leung lands with a punch from half guard. #T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Leung winds up and cracks Lake with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Leung is figuring out what he wants to do next. Further stalling from Leung.#SUB# Leung is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lake doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Leung. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Leung content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. #T3# Lake on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Leung with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. #SUB# Leung is looking for a kimura but Lake is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Leung to get the leverage. #T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Leung blocks the strikes from Lake.

Still in half guard, Leung seems content to control.#SUB# Leung has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lake defend it? Leung steps over the head and cranks it - Lake is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Leung!

#R1# A punch combination from Lake misses. Lake tries to close the distance and clinch but Spade swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ash Lake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lake uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Spade has time to react. Lake shoots in and drives through. Spade sprawls well. Spade swings widly with a right hand
and Spade takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lake is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lake keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lake misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Spade with the counter takedown but Lake avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lake fails with the takedown and Spade counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ash Lake. That's going to take a lot out of him. A left and a right from Lake both land. Nice combination. Spade takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spade throws a right hand that Lake ducks under and follows up with a left that Lake also avoids with ease.#T1# Spade misses with a hook. Lake ducked under it nicely. Lake lands with an overhand left. Lake throws a body shot but no joy. Lake stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Lake fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A little jabbing left from Spade on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Spade getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Spade loads up on a big right hand but Lake slips the punch. Lake has his takedown stuffed and Spade counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Lake misses with a series of wild punches.
Spade throws a hook to the side of Lake's head but Lake sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lake steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Spade. A counter left hand to the body from Lake misses its target.#T2# Lake takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Spade missing with a left hand there. Lake was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Lake throwing a counter right hand but Spade manages to avoid it. Spade connects with a single shot there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lake fails with an attempt to clinch.
Spade throws a hook to the side of Lake's head but Lake sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The crowd cheers as Spade lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lake doesn't seem phased though.#ROC2#Lake is rocked! Tony Spade is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Spade lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

#R1# Lake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lake tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. James tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lake manages to circle out of the way. James drops his hands momentarily and Lake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Lake stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from James. James connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. #CL# The fight moves into the clinch position.#TD# James gets control of Lake's arms and successfully pulls guard. James will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. James doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

James shoots in looking for a takedown but Lake manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lake works the jab nicely. Lake with a body punch. A glancing blow. #CL# James clinches up against the cage. James keeps control of Lake as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. James goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lake prevents it.
#BC# James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #TD# James shoots in and bounces Lake off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.#T2# James is looking to work some ground and pound but Lake has wrist control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James wants to control from the top but Lake keeps moving. Lake is looking to stand back up but James counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lake. Lake on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. #SU# James stands up and beckons Lake to join him on the feet. #T3# James shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lake sprawls well. Lake wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. James gets slowly back to his feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lake! But no joy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reginald James. That's going to take a lot out of him.#CL# James gets a clinch. Lake looking for a takedown. Lake managing to block the knees to the body from James.
