and Brooks counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Brooks.
Brooks manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Brooks lands with a light punch inside.
Winner is looking to break free of the clinch but Brooks has double underhooks.
A right handed body shot lands from Brooks.
Winner tries to break the clinch but Brooks is controlling the position.
Winner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Brooks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Winner's efforts to push away.
Winner wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Brooks has him pressed against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brooks creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Winner with a big uppercut! Winner tries to clinch up but Brooks pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Winner to the mat! Winner covers up and Brooks unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Pepper Brooks!
Post fight, Pepper Brooks stared into the camera and said 'Usually you pay double for that kind of action, Cotton.'.

Winner scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Winner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kovaleva eats them both and turns towards Winner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Winner lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kovaleva backs up against the cage.
Winner feints a jab promting Kovaleva to slip. Winner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kovaleva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Winner looks to land a combination but Kovaleva avoids it well.
Kovaleva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Winner tries to avoid it but Kovaleva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Winner to the ground. Winner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Winner lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kovaleva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winner circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Winner. Those never looked like landing.
Winner misses with the combination.
Kovaleva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Kovaleva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Winner pinned against the cage. Winner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kovaleva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Winner's guard.
Kovaleva working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Winner's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kovaleva's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kovaleva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Kovaleva lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Kovaleva unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Winner wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Kovaleva celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
