Gonzalez gets underhooks to prevent John's takedown attempt.
A nice right hand lands inside from Gonzalez. Gonzalez working hard to break the clinch. John has Gonzalez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gonzalez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gonzalez blocks an uppercut.
Gonzalez scores with a nice hook to the head. John tries for a takedown but Gonzalez manages to get underhooks.
Shaun Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy John. John wants to take the fight to the mat but Gonzalez manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Gonzalez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gonzalez lands on the inside with an uppercut. Gonzalez lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.#BC# Gonzalez manages to break the clinch.
Gonzalez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. John wants to clinch but Gonzalez slips to the side and Gonzalez counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Gonzalez stuffs the takedown. John looks winded! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gonzalez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Gonzalez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. John takes one to the side of the head.

John is still on wobbly legs! Can Gonzalez finish him? Gonzalez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. John looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Gonzalez fakes the body blow, causing John to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! John goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
