Slater on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tomate. Tomate obviously looking to wear him down.
Slater walks into a stiff left hand from Tomate. Slater wants to clinch but Tomate slips to the side and Tomate counters with a nice uppercut. Tomate scores with a decent looking hook. And that's the end of the fight! Tiago Tomate comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tomate has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Slater has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Slater is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Zapina has hold of Slater's hands but Slater slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kaburagi has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've been hearing reports that Slater has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A short right from Slater on the inside.
