Buddha throws an overhand right that lands on Caceres's shoulder, as Caceres tries to avoid the shot. Buddha misses the jab. Buddha has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Caceres misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Buddha is looking for a counter combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buddha misses with a looping left. Caceres shoots in but Buddha avoids the takedown attempt easily. Buddha was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.#T1# Buddha throws out a loose jab but Caceres uses good head movement to avoid it. Buddha throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Caceres stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Caceres tries to move into range but Buddha moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Caceres tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Buddha defends well and Caceres ends up having to push Buddha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Samson Buddha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Caceres. Caceres fails with a takedown attempt. Caceres steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carvalho. And Caceres tries to counter it with a takedown but Carvalho pushes his down on his head and steps out. Carvalho throws a good cross that connects.

Jalo Ilmarinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ilmarinen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Caceres in his tracks. Ilmarinen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caceres has his takedown stuffed and Ilmarinen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. As Caceres backs off Silver throws a huge counter combo but Caceres manages to avoid it all. A jab from Silver finds it's way through Caceres's defenses. Caceres takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caceres uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silver. Silver misses with a leg kick. No joy there for Silver, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Peterson throws a body shot but no joy. Caceres appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Peterson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Caceres looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Peterson misses the shot to the body. Caceres tries to counter with a takedown but Peterson is quick to defend against it. Peterson missing with a left hand there. Caceres was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Peterson lands a really nice looking cross but Caceres seems unphased.

Valejo trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Caceres controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Caceres postures up in Valejo's guard and throws a big left but Valejo blocks it. Valejo wants to sweep here but Caceres controlling him for the moment. Caceres works a leg free and moves into half guard. #T3# Valejo looks like he's trying to stand up.

Still in half guard, Caceres seems content to control. Caceres is trying to control the action in half guard but Valejo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Caceres prevents Valejo from standing back up.

#T4# Caceres shoots in looking for a takedown but Valejo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Caceres's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Valejo slaps away a takedown attempt from Caceres, before circling back to the center of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Caceres. Caceres seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Caceres. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Horrible takedown attempt by Caceres or perhaps it was just good defense by Valejo, which made it look bad. A jab lands there for Valejo. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Valejo scores with a head kick. Caceres tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Caceres dives in for a single leg takedown but Valejo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Valejo is looking for the big counter here.#TD2# Valejo drags the fight down to the ground.
Rickson Caceres has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Diego Valejo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Valejo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

#TD# Kozmas gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. #SUB2# Kozmas stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Caceres has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Kozmas manages to get his head free but now Caceres has transitioned to an armbar! Kozmas grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Caceres! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

#R1##TD2# Caceres shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Caceres was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kalyan is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Caceres in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kalyan gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kalyan wants to control but Caceres is having none of it. Caceres controlling the position easily from mount. #T1# Caceres postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kalyan looks a forlorn figure.
Kalyan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Caceres on the ground.#SUB2# Caceres has isolated one of Kalyan's arms. Kalyan looking to fight him off but Caceres twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Thompson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Caceres manages to pass to side control. #REVB# Caceres prevents Thompson from improving his position. Caceres sitting and controlling from the half guard. Thompson trying to control but Caceres postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Caceres tries to pass to full mount but Thompson defends it. Caceres is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.#T1# Thompson is looking to improve his position.

We'll restart on the feet. Caceres darts in looking for a takedown but Thompson gets double underhooks and turns Caceres into the cage. Caceres is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Thompson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Thompson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Thompson lands a nice shot to the body. #TD# Caceres works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Caceres tries to free his leg and advance position but Thompson is retaining full guard. Thompson wants to sweep but no luck. Caceres is stalling in the full guard. Thompson wants to stand and escape but Caceres is having none of it. #T4# Caceres content to stall in guard here. Thompson wants to hit a sweep here but Caceres passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Thompson there! Caceres sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Thompson smells blood - he's punishing Caceres with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Caceres has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
