Baird throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Spechal throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Spechal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Baird. Spechal keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spechal is trying to get back to full guard. Spechal is looking to control Baird's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Spechal avoid being mounted? Spechal wants to get back to his feet.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Baird holds on and takes a little breather. Baird has a closed guard, preventing Spechal from standing up. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.#TD2# Baird fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Spechal to the ground. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A nice leg kick lands there from Spechal. Baird circles away from the clinch attempt.
#CL2# Baird moves into the clinch. Spechal is trying to force a seperation but Baird has the dominant position. Baird keeps control of Spechal as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Baird's face as he tries to break the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Baird.

#R1# Hood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Spechal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hood as he avoids it easily. Hood lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Spechal backs up against the cage.
#CUT2#It looks like Adam Spechal has been cut. Spechal dives in for a single leg takedown but Hood sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Spechal. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Spechal jumps guard.
Hood stands up over Spechal, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hood is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spechal keeping moving, preventing Hood from controlling successfully. #T1# Hood slips nicely into half guard.
