Omandi has closed the distance and engaged Wiz in a clinch.
Omandi goes for a takedown attempt but Wiz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wiz feints a jab promting Omandi to slip. Wiz then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Omandi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wiz throws a looping overhand right but Omandi ducks down to avoid it.
Omandi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Good leg kick by Wiz. #CL2#
Wiz closes the distance and clinches.
Omandi fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Wiz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wiz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Omandi defends it nicely.
Omandi shoots in for a takedown but Wiz shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Challa Omandi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Omandi tries to clinch up.
Wiz lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Wiz decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Wiz connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Omandi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wiz as he jumps to the side.
Wiz swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Omandi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wiz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wiz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Omandi motions for Wiz to come forward. Omandi throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Wiz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A swing and a miss from Omandi.
Omandi tries to clinch there but Wiz circles away.
Challa Omandi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Omandi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wiz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.#CL2#
Wiz drives through and clinches with Omandi against the cage.
Omandi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.#T2##BC2#
Wiz manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Omandi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

No joy there for Omandi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Wiz's coach down at Hilo Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wiz's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Wiz seems to be stalking Omandi here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Omandi drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Gee Wiz!
