#TD# Frederick shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.#SUB2# Chavez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Frederick pulls his head out easily. Frederick is figuring out what he wants to do next. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chavez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Frederick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. #T1##SU# Frederick gets to his feet - Chavez follows without any prompting. Chavez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A combination from Chavez does no damage. #TD# Frederick shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Frederick with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Frederick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chavez on the ground.#SUB# Frederick is working for a kimura but Chavez is defending it quite comfortably.

Chavez wants to get back to full guard.#T3##SU# Frederick decides to stand and escape the position. Chavez shoots and misses #CL# and Frederick holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. #BC# Frederick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Frederick. #T4# Frederick keeps control of the position for the meantime. Chavez wants to free his trapped foot but Frederick is holding on for dear life with his legs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frederick wants to control but Chavez passes into side.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mark Frederick will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.#R2# Chavez throws a hook but Frederick avoids it easily.#CL# Frederick pushes Chavez up against the cage in a clinch.#TD# Frederick gets control of Chavez 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Frederick will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Frederick manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chavez manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVR# Frederick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chavez can do to turn this around?#SUB2# Frederick has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Chavez to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Frederick is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Chavez pulls down on the head and he's put Frederick to sleep! This one is all over!
