#TD# Hooptie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee asks Hooptie politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hooptie prefers to stall for the moment though. Stanford struggling a bit here. Stanford is trying to get back to half guard. Hooptie tries to advance to mount but can't. Hooptie working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooptie wants to stand but Stanford is controlling his arm.#T1# Hooptie staying calm. Hooptie wants to stand but Stanford is controlling his arm.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Stanford looks to clinch #TD# and Hooptie counters with a nice double leg into guard. Stanford wants to sweep here but Hooptie controlling him for the moment. #T3# Hooptie controlling the pace for now. Hooptie lands a big shot there that rocks Stanford but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Stanford bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Stanford stopping the sweep attempt from Hooptie. Stanford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hooptie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T4# Hooptie has Stanford pulled in close to control his posture. Hooptie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hooptie trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Stanford must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# Stanford got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hooptie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stanford has managed to get both his arms back between Hooptie's legs - danger averted. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hooptie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stanford manages to get himself to full guard.

Tight Hooptie dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.#R2# Stanford fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Stanford tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hooptie swats him away and circles back towards the center. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stanford is defended easily by Hooptie.#TD# Hooptie gets a double leg takedown into Stanford's guard. Stanford is wriggling around but Hooptie manages to pass to half guard.

Well, if Hooptie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

#T2# Hooptie lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
What can Stanford do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Hooptie pulls Stanford in close to his closed guard and prevents Stanford from doing any damage or advancing position.#SUB# Hooptie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stanford can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hooptie tries to get out of the position.#SUB# Hooptie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stanford defends it easily. Stanford can't keep his opponent in guard - Hooptie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hooptie slows the pace down in half guard. Hooptie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Stanford tries to roll over but Hooptie keeps him under control. Hooptie winds up and cracks Stanford with a swinging punch to the side of the head. #T3# Stanford wants to get back to full guard. Hooptie trying to mount his opponent but Stanford defends it. Hooptie trying to control the pace. #SUB# Hooptie is working for a submission of some sort.

#T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stanford is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hooptie scores with a couple of nice shots. Hooptie seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
