#R1# Simons throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Simons pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Simons moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Simons will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Crowder is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Simons. Simons moves out of range as Crowder strikes. Simons uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Crowder. Simons shoots in for a takedown but Crowder shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Simons takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Simons moves away from the strike by Crowder. Simons changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Simons fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Simons. That's going to take a lot out of him. Simons fails in his attempt to clinch. Crowder scores with a shot to the body.
Crowder missing with a left hand there. Simons was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Crowder punishes Simons's body with a nice straight punch. Simons is breathing heavily. Simons throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Crowder's waist but Crowder gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Simons off to one side. It seemed like Crowder was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Crowder scores with a hook to the body. Simons takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Nice uppercut there from Crowder. Simons takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.#T1# Crowder thuds a left hand into Simons's body. Crowder cracks Simons with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Crowder dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Crowder comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Crowder scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Simons walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Crowder! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!

#R1# Mwilinagwe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mwilinagwe looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!#TD# A momentary lapse in concentration from Mwilinagwe enables Simons to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mwilinagwe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Simons looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Simons advances to half guard. Simons stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simons tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mwilinagwe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
#T1##SU# Simons decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Mwilinagwe has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Simons throws a series of punches but Mwilinagwe avoids them all with ease. Mwilinagwe feints the counter takedown.#CL# Simons fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mwilinagwe, pushing him back against the cage.#TD# Simons decides to pull guard. #ES# Simons uses the cage to get back to his feet.
#TD# Simons shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mwilinagwe's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Simons wants to pass the guard but Mwilinagwe is keeping the position.#T2# Simons sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mwilinagwe looking for a sweep. Not yet Mwilinagwe, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T3# Simons engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Simons's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.#SU# Simons gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #TD# Mwilinagwe tries to sprawl but Simons drives through with a takedown into half guard.#T4# Simons keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mwilinagwe wants to improve his position but Simons is controlling well.
Simons with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SU# Simons escapes and gets back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Mwilinagwe sprawls well initially but Simons persists and gets the takedown into half guard. #SU# Simons decides to stand up. Joe Simons is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.#TD# Simons shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mwilinagwe manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Simons content to stall in guard here. Simons seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mwilinagwe for as long as he can get away with. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simons looking to pass the guard. Mwilinagwe is breathing heavily.#T1# Simons is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #SU# Simons stands up from guard. Let's bang! #TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Simons. Simons tries to advance to mount but Mwilinagwe denies him. Simons slows the pace down. #T2# Simons working the ground and pound. #SU# Simons decides to stand back up. Simons steps back and let's Mwilinagwe get back to his feet.#CL# Simons pushes Mwilinagwe up against the cage in a clinch.#TD# Simons ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Simons no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. #ES# Simons pushes Mwilinagwe off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This has been an exciting period of action!#TD# Simons drives through with a takedown into Mwilinagwe's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.#T3# Simons controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Simons pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mwilinagwe is keeping the position for now. Joe Simons overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Simons controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Simons has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Simons advances to half guard. #SUB# Simons wants to work for an arm triangle but Mwilinagwe is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mwilinagwe has hold of Simons's hands but Simons slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Simons passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mwilinagwe! Mwilinagwe is wriggling around trying to escape.
#SUB# Simons is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mwilinagwe has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Simons cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Simons in particular looking to stall. Simons is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mwilinagwe can do to turn this around? Simons working over Mwilinagwe with some ground and pound. Mwilinagwe looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Mwilinagwe is trying to stand.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've been informed that Mwilinagwe has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Mwilinagwe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ground and pound from Simons. #T1# Simons winds up and cracks Mwilinagwe with a swinging punch to the side of the head. #ROC#Mwilinagwe is rocked!#SU# Simons decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Mwilinagwe is still on wobbly legs! Can Simons finish him?#TD# Simons lands a huge takedown. Mwilinagwe is out but the ref is slow to react and Simons lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Mwilinagwe lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
