We've been hearing reports that Burroughs has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.#TD#
Burroughs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Norddahl can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Burroughs controls the pace.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Hilo inform us that Norddahl has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Burroughs working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Burroughs doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alampi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Burroughs dives in for a single leg takedown but Alampi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burroughs.
Gianluca Alampi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Burroughs.

Burroughs gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Burroughs tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Alampi is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Burroughs buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Burroughs!! Burroughs is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Alampi throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
