Kiang is working for takedown but Alexander is calmly controlling the position for now.#TD# Alexander gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kiang regains guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Alexander is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# Alexander sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. Alexander pulls Gracie Jr in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie Jr from doing any damage or advancing position. Gracie Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Alexander is retaining full guard. Alexander looking to control.

Avangyan landing with the ground and pound. #SUB2# Avangyan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alexander has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Avangyan has managed to get both his arms back between Alexander's legs - danger averted. Avangyan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground.
