Anderson walks straight into a right hand from Pfanne - that's dropped him! Pfanne jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Anderson from any more punishment! Anderson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

#R1##TD# Pfanne feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Pfanne lands a couple of decent looking shots.#SUB2# Vieira is looking for a triangle but Pfanne pushes his legs off easily.
We've been hearing that Pfanne has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Pfanne throwing strikes but missing. Pfanne throws a big elbow that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pfanne accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vieira is controlling Pfanne's posture. Pfanne is working Vieira over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. A little jabbing left from Vieira on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pfanne throws an off balance right hand
letting Vieira counter with a right hand. Pfanne tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Pfanne takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Pfanne doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vieira counters with a straight right hand. Pfanne fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brad Pfanne. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pfanne shoots in for a takedown but Vieira shows good takedown defense. Pfanne waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Martinez. Martinez leaves Pfanne with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Brad Pfanne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martinez digs a good body shot into Pfanne's ribs. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pfanne postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Anderson on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Anderson doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
