#R1# Kovalyov has his takedown stuffed and Kidman counters with a nice uppercut. #TD# Kovalyov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kovalyov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kovalyov with a flurry of punches that miss. Kidman can't keep his opponent in guard - Kovalyov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Kovalyov wants to free his trapped foot but Kidman is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kovalyov throwing shots but Kidman is blocking nicely. Kovalyov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kidman's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidman is looking to improve his position.
Kovalyov is nestled in close to Kidman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kovalyov is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Kovalyov connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
