Katamichi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kapoian wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Katamichi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kapoian manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Katamichi manages to get himself to full guard.

Haygag Kapoian decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |

Schnieder trying to control the position from guard on top but Katamichi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schnieder stopping the sweep attempt from Katamichi. Katamichi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schnieder won't allow Katamichi to sweep him here. Katamichi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that's the end of the fight! Yoshida Katamichi showed his dominance in that final round. I think Schnieder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

#R1##TD# Katamichi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Treci! You can see the frustration on Treci's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Katamichi tries to move to mount but Treci blocks the move with his legs. Katamichi is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Treci's shoulder. That is not cool. Katamichi scores with punches from side control. Katamichi grinds an elbow into Treci's temple. Treci wants to control but Katamichi postures up. Katamichi lands a few punches from side control. Treci is trying to control Katamichi's posture but Katamichi avoids it. Treci takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Treci gets back to half guard. Treci has hold of Katamichi's hands but Katamichi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.#T1# Katamichi working the head and body with strikes. Katamichi not doing much here.

Katamichi lands a big elbow - Treci is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Katamichi!

#R1# Katamichi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Trevena s jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!#CUT2#It looks like King Trevena has been cut. Trevena is breathing heavily. Trevena staying out of range there. Trevena lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Trevena avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Trevena avoids the body shot from Katamichi.
Good shot there by Katamichi. Katamichi sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Trevena 's defenses. It connects perfectly with Trevena 's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yoshida Katamichi! In his post fight interview, Yoshida Katamichi started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. |
