No luck with that takedown attempt from Phelps.
A right-left combo lands from Phelps.
Phelps dives in and grabs Penncil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Penncil pushes down on Phelps's head and hops out.
Phelps looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penncil is fending him off so far but Phelps persists. Nope, Penncil circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Phelps. That's going to take a lot out of him.#CL2#

Phelps closes the distance and clinches up with Penncil, looking for a takedown. Phelps pushes Penncil against the cage but Penncil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Penncil throws a body punch but Phelps moves out of range.
Phelps is looking to clinch.
Phelps tries to score a power double leg takedown but Penncil sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Phelps somewhat.

Phelps drops down looking for an ankle pick but Saulo pulls his leg out and moves away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Saulo jerks Phelps's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Phelps drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Saulo goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Saulo because Phelps was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
