#R1##TD# Gracie scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Hayze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie trying to control the action but Hayze is working from the bottom. Gracie cracks Hayze with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hayze has one of Gracie's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.#SUB# Gracie has hold of Hayze's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hayze tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gracie cranks the arm and Hayze screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hayze, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kenji Gracie! Our winner, Kenji Gracie, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. |
