#R1##TD# Magalhaes scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Magalhaes trying to control the position but McLaughlin is working away. McLaughlin is trying to control Magalhaes's posture but Magalhaes avoids it. McLaughlin holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Magalhaes working away. McLaughlin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Magalhaes off and has taken his back! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magalhaes is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Magalhaes trying to control but not successfully. Well, with McLaughlin on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Magalhaes is tapping out... Can he escape the position?#T1# Good control from McLaughlin. McLaughlin gets his hands free as Magalhaes looks to control. Magalhaes is trying to stand back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McLaughlin not allowing Magalhaes to control his hands. Magalhaes is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
#T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Magalhaes is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
McLaughlin has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Magalhaes's body.
McLaughlin is continuing to stall.#T3# My spies in PhoQus Island Training inform me that McLaughlin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! You can see the frustration on Magalhaes's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
What can Magalhaes do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
#T4# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Magalhaes wants to get back to his feet. McLaughlin just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
George McLaughlin dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!#R2##CL2# McLaughlin clinches up with Magalhaes and pushes him back against the cage.#TD# The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Magalhaes wants the takedown. McLaughlin is fighting it off but Magalhaes persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McLaughlin's guard against the cage. McLaughlin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. #SUB2# McLaughlin has his feet on Magalhaes's thighs here. He's pushed Magalhaes off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Magalhaes screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
