#R1# Abner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Karim counters with a nice uppercut. Abner shoots in but Karim avoids the takedown attempt easily. Abner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Karim counters with a nice uppercut. Nurlan Karim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brayden Abner. Abner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Abner. Horrible takedown attempt by Abner or perhaps it was just good defense by Karim, which made it look bad. Karim fires out a quick counter leg kick but Abner just manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karim defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Abner. Karim lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Karim definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Abner shoots in for a takedown but Karim shows good takedown defense. Abner shoots in looking for a takedown. Karim tries to sprawl out of it but Abner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Karim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Abner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Karim connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.#CUT#It looks like Brayden Abner has been cut. Abner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Karim counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Abner off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Karim follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Abner was out before he hit the floor.

Abner moves out of range as Simpson strikes. Abner seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Simpson throws out a loose jab but Abner uses good head movement to avoid it. Abner tries to clinch there but Simpson circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Abner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Abner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Simpson counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
