Miao shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gomi napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Miao working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SU#
Miao decides to stand back up. Miao steps back and let's Gomi get back to his feet.

Miao shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gomi's guard.

Miao drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miao jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Miao has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Miao seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gomi for as long as he can get away with.#SUB#

Miao is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gomi is just riding it out for now. Miao eventually gives up the hold.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miao connects with a nice short shot to Gomi's temple.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Miao in particular looking to stall.
Miao really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
