And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Lee Huang! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.

Rurov in side control lands a decent elbow. Rurov scores with a couple of short elbows. Rurov controls the position. Rurov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ippo to see if he's OK. Ippo is letting Rurov control him for a moment. Rurov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Rurov has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ippo!#T1# Rurov landing punches. Rurov looking to control and managing it successfully. Rurov lands a nice shot to the head. Rurov working the ground and pound effectively.
Rurov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rurov breaks from Ippo's wrist control and lands an elbow. Ippo tries to lock up and control but Rurov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rurov cracks Ippo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rurov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ippo for as long as he can get away with. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ippo tries to reverse the position but Rurov maintains control. Ippo looks winded! Rurov controlling his opponent. Rurov with a couple of short strikes. Rurov lands a nice shot to the head. Rurov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rurov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. Rurov lands a nice forearm strike. Shields tries to bench press Rurov off him but Rurov keeps the position. Shields prevents Rurov from improving position. Shields tries to buck Rurov off but Rurov is having none of it. Rurov lands an elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shields is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rurov is controlling him well. Rurov working the head and body with strikes. The referee asks Rurov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rurov prefers to stall for the moment though.#SUB2# Rurov has worked his way into a potential kimura here.
