#R1# Wright tries for a takedown but Compton sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Compton looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. A head kick by Compton misses #CL# and Wright counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Wright leaning his opponent against the cage. Wright is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Compton to keep the fight standing. Compton working hard to break the clinch. Wright is working for takedown but Compton is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erick Wright. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Wright tightens his grip and picks Compton up, before dumping him to the ground. Compton manages to land in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wright throws a big elbow that misses. Wright trying to control but Compton is working from the bottom. Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wright passes Compton's right leg, so he's now in half guard. #T1# Wright trying to control the pace. Wright seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Compton for as long as he can get away with. Wright is keen to just control but Compton is a slippery customer. Compton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Compton tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Wright has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Wright controlling from the full mount. #T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wright lands a nice shot to the head. Wright lands a big shot there that rocks Compton but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wright lands a couple of good shots and Compton has given up his back, trying to escape the position!#SUB# Wright is looking for the choke from the back position but Compton is controlling his hands well. #SUB# Wright has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. #SUB# Wright looking to break Compton's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Compton remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Wright will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!#T3# Compton trying to get back to his feet but Wright is in full control for now. Wright is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Compton trying to control the hands but Wright breaks the grip. #SUB# Compton is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Will Wright go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Compton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T4# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Compton is trying to stand back up. Wright really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Compton. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Erick Wright dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!#R2##CL# Wright instigates a clinch. Compton is trying to force a seperation but Wright has the dominant position. Wright stalling.

Erick Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Compton throws a right hand that Wright ducks under and follows up with a left that Wright also avoids with ease. Compton shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Wright tries to counter by clinching up but Compton breaks away and moves out of range. Compton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Compton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wright shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Compton counters with a big head kick but Wright shrugs it off. #T1# Compton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Compton wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erick Wright. That's going to take a lot out of him. Compton looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
#TD# A momentary lapse in concentration from Compton enables Wright to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Compton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Compton being controlled here, momentarily. Compton wants to sweep but no luck. Compton is breathing heavily.#SU# Wright gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #T2##CL# Wright has taken the fight to the clinch.
Compton tries to break the clinch but Wright is controlling the position. #BC# Wright's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.#TD# Wright bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Compton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wright wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Erick Wright overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.#SUB# Wright in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Compton is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
