This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Adam Ballard! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Broady Hallows! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#TD2# Hallows closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ballard's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ballard (0) vs (2) Hallows Hallows looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hallows stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ballard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ballard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hallows advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Ballard (0) vs (5) Hallows Hallows advances to mount. Score +2 for reaching mount: Ballard (0) vs (7) Hallows#SUB2# Hallows has isolated one of Ballard's arms. #R1# A big left from Ballard misses. Ballard staying out of range there. Nice uppercut lands for Santos. That snapped Ballard's head back.
A swing and a miss from Ballard. A little jabbing left from Santos on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Santos misses with a hook
and Ballard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ballard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santos. Santos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ballard has time to react. The fighters circling - Ballard throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Santos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ballard finds it's way round the side to connect with Santos's head. Santos lands a head shot.#CUT2#It looks like Adam Ballard has been cut. A looping hook to the body misses from Santos. Ballard does a little dance to reset his feet. Santos throws out a loose jab but Ballard uses good head movement to avoid it. Ballard went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Santos moves out of range as Ballard strikes.#T1# Santos slips under a jab from Ballard. Ballard jabbing away but nothing is landing. Miguel Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santos throws an overhand right that lands on Ballard's shoulder, as Ballard tries to avoid the shot. and Ballard counters with a straight right hand. Ballard catches Santos with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Santos throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ballard appears to be looking for a big counter. Santos moves out of range as Ballard strikes. Ballard lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Santos throws a big shot that misses. Ballard throws a jab but it's blocked by Santos. and Ballard counters with a stiff right hand. Ballard is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Santos lands a two punch combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A big left from Ballard misses. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Santos! But no joy. Santos uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ballard. Ballard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Santos looks to land a combination but Ballard avoids it well. The fighters circle momentarily. Ballard darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Santos looks to land a combination. Ballard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Ballard slips a straight right by Santos. Ballard uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Santos. letting Ballard counter with a right hand. Ballard uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Santos. A little feinted left hand from Ballard on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Santos has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Santos there as he acknowledges the shot. Ballard throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Santos is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Santos lands a nice shot that snaps Ballard's head back.
A telegraphed right hand from Ballard misses the target. Ballard showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Santos.
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ballard paws at him with a jab and circles away. Santos lands a jab to the head.
#T4# Santos lands with an overhand left. Santos throws a jab when Ballard was well out of range. Ballard lands with an uppercut that bounces Santos off the cage and back into range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ballard lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A lazy left from Ballard finds it's target. Santos connects with a nice looking jab.
A shot to the body from Santos misses and Ballard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ballard lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Santos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Santos misses with a hook
and Ballard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ballard paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Santos swinging wildly here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Adam Ballard will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Adam Ballard's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!#R2# Santos throws a right hand that misses

Santos loads up on a big right hand but Ballard slips the punch. Santos misses the jab. Ballard was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Santos misses with an uppercut
and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ballard paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A nice combination there by Santos.
Ballard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Santos cracks Ballard with a right hand to the side of the head. Ballard dips to his left and cracks Santos with an uppercut! Ballard is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Good exchange - Ballard coming out on top.#T1# Santos misses with an uppercut

and Ballard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ballard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Santos on the side of the head. #ROC#Santos is rocked! Santos throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Ballard to counter with a crisp jab. Santos is still on wobbly legs! Can Ballard finish him? Ballard cracks Santos with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Santos tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ballard pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Santos is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

#R1# Ballard lands a jab-cross combination. A low kick from McCurry misses and Ballard counters with a straight right hand. Nice jab there from Ballard. Ballard throws a looping overhand right but McCurry ducks down to avoid it. #TD# McCurry shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ballard's guard. McCurry slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. McCurry works a leg free and moves into half guard. #SU# McCurry stands up from half guard. McCurry lands with a thumping leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#CL# McCurry instigates a clinch. #T1# Ballard wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ballard is trying to push McCurry away but McCurry has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ballard is trying to break free. Come on McCurry - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

McCurry is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. McCurry keeping moving, preventing Ballard from controlling successfully. McCurry throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Ballard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McCurry haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.#SU# McCurry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #TD# McCurry shoots in and bounces Ballard off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. McCurry stays in close to Ballard's body and controls the position. #T3# McCurry has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# McCurry is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ballard is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ballard has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB##ES# McCurry pushes Ballard off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. McCurry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ballard. #T4# McCurry displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ballard throws out the jab. Ballard throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. McCurry gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Ballard counter with a right hand. McCurry darts in trying to clinch and Ballard counters with a straight right hand. Some wild striking there from Ballard.

#R1# Jab from Ballard. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ballard, as that shot connected.
Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ballard tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ballard to the ground. Ballard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. No luck for Brown with that takedown attempt. An attempted straight right counter from Ballard misses the target. Some wild striking there from Brown.
Brown tries to bum rush Ballard with a series of wild strikes but Ballard uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Brown tries for a takedown but Ballard circles away easily and Ballard counters with a nice uppercut. Adam Ballard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alaric Brown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ballard scores with a jab to the head.

Brown, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Ballard!
