Dawson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Ryan's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Dawson dives in looking to finish as Ryan flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Dawson's strikes! Dawson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Ryan's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Ryan was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ryan throws a wild hook but Adams just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Ryan gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Adams raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Alvarez keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Alvarez stalks Ryan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ryan's face. Ryan staggers backwards, shaken.
Alvarez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alvarez's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Alvarez duly obliges.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ryan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
