#R1##TD2# Pennington shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Botev's guard. Pennington with a nice head shot there. Botev managing to control the position. Pennington works over Botev with some ground and pound from guard. Botev on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Botev tries to get out of the position. Pennington missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Pennington trying to control but Botev is working from the bottom. Botev wants to sweep but no luck. Botev keeping moving, preventing Pennington from controlling successfully. Pennington looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pennington trying to control but Botev is working from the bottom. Botev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pennington's guard. #REVR##T1# Botev throwing strikes but missing. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pennington utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Botev works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pennington felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Botev missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Botev not landing any meaningful shots this time. #T3# Pennington keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Botev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Botev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. Varban Botev dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.#R2# Botev swings for the body but Pennington moves out of range.

Botev moves into full mount! Botev postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pennington looks a forlorn figure.

#R1##CL# Pennington closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Fox is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Fox tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pennington just stands there and leans against the cage. Fox goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pennington prevents it.
#TD# Pennington gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pennington looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Fox gets full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pennington keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fox's head. Pennington is stalling in the full guard. #SUB2# Fox is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pennington is aware though and is defending well.#T1# Pennington trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pennington showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Pennington scoring with some ground and pound. Fox wants to sweep here but Pennington controlling him for the moment.
