#R1##TD2# Mogensen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Davis! Davis tries to buck Mogensen off but Mogensen is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mogensen tries to advance to mount but can't. #SUB2# Mogensen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SUB2# Mogensen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mogensen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Mogensen has hold of Davis's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Davis tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mogensen cranks the arm and Davis screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Davis, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rasmus Mogensen! After the fight, Rasmus Mogensen was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |

#R1# A swing and a miss from Rojo. Davis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rojo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Davis scrambles back to his feet. Rojo misses with a looping right. Davis tries to counter by closing the distance. Davis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rojo throws out the jab. Davis wants to counter the offense by Rojo and move into the clinch position. Rojo throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Rojo throws out a loose jab but Davis uses good head movement to avoid it. Davis is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Rojo with a body shot. Davis on the wrong end of a nice hook. Rojo pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Davis drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rojo defends it well. Rojo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Davis tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Rojo misses. Davis is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Rojo cracks Davis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The fighters circle momentarily. Rojo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Rojo lands a two punch combo.
#T1# Nice defenses there by Davis. Rojo is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Rojo throws an off balance right hand
#TD2# and Davis counters with a single leg into guard. Rojo didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rojo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Davis throwing strikes but missing. Davis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Davis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rojo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davis on the ground. Davis throws a big right hand that misses. Davis connects with a couple of short punches. Davis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rojo looking to control but Davis passes into half guard.
Rojo is looking to improve his position.

He's managed it - he's now in full mount! #SUB2# Davis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rojo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rojo shrugs it off. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davis unloads with some shots from mount but Rojo bucks and avoids them well.
#SUB2# Davis is working for a guillotine from mount but Rojo frees his head quite easily.
Davis lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
#T3# A big strike lands for Davis! That's really hurt Rojo and he's turned his back - Davis keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Davis jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
