Baker dives in and grabs Contra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Contra pushes down on Baker 's head and hops out. Baker shoots in but no luck this time. Quail Contra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Baker . Contra keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Baker with a poor takedown and Baker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Baker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Contra waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Baker . Baker shoots in for a double leg but Contra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Baker misses with a takedown enabling Contra to counter with a crisp jab. Contra lands a body shot.
Contra scores with a three punch combo!
Contra lands with a shot to the body. Baker looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Contra throws a right and a left that both miss. Contra throws a combination that misses and Baker counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Baker with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Contra to score with a decent uppercut. Contra scores with a jab to the body. Contra lands with a cross. Baker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Contra counters with a lovely straight right hand! Contra throws an overhand right that drops Baker like a sack of potatoes! Contra dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

#R1##TD2# Baker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Babineaux sprawls well initially but Baker persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Babineaux's coaches at The Office have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Baker throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Baker throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Babineaux to regain full guard. Baker trying to control but Babineaux is working from the bottom. Baker throws a strike but Babineaux rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVR# Baker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. #SUB2# Babineaux got a little sloppy there for a moment and Baker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Babineaux has managed to get both his arms back between Baker 's legs - danger averted. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baker wants to stand up but Babineaux is controlling him. Baker keeping moving, preventing Babineaux from controlling successfully. #T1# Babineaux showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Baker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Babineaux. Baker shoots in looking for a takedown but Babineaux manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Baker 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Babineaux dropped down on all fours and is barking in Baker 's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Huell Babineaux! After the fight, Huell Babineaux was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |

#R1# Contra needs to keep his hands up - Baker had a free shot at his head there. Contra throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Contra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Baker . #TD# Baker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Contra to the mat! Contra manages to get full guard. Contra pushes Baker off and gets back to his feet.
Contra throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Contra moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Contra catches Baker with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! This has been an exciting period of action! Contra uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baker . Baker takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Contra throws a right and a left that Baker avoids nicely. Baker was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Contra scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Baker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Contra stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Baker lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Baker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Contra misses with a looping right. Baker shoots in but no luck this time. #T1# Contra pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Contra digs a good body shot into Baker 's ribs. Baker looks for a takedown but Contra sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Donnie Baker . That's going to take a lot out of him. Baker ducks under a wild hook from Contra. Baker was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Baker fails with a takedown attempt. Contra swats away the attempt to clinch by Baker . Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.#R2# Contra cracks Baker with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Baker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Baker misses with a takedown and Contra cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Baker fails with an attempt to clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Baker walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A jab from Contra does it's job there. Contra stuns Baker with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Contra feints with a jab and clips Baker right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Baker is sent crashing into the canvas and Contra leaps in for the kill! Baker tries to get to his feet but Contra is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Baker is in need of a savior and steps in!

Obolensky tries to score a body lock takedown but Baker shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Baker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Obolensky has Baker pressed against the cage, preventing Baker from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Obolensky wants a takedown.

Contra throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Baker stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Contra has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Rio in the buildup to the fight. Baker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Contra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Contra seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Decent striking displayed by Contra there. Baker shoots in for a takedown but Contra shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Quail Contra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Baker . Contra throws a right and a left that Baker avoids nicely. Baker has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. Baker wanted to stand there but Simmons had control of the position. Baker with a nice head shot there. Baker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Simmons's head.#CUT#That has opened up Sammy Simmons's cut even more. Baker 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Baker lands a couple of digs. Baker connects with a couple of short punches. Baker showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baker trying to control but Simmons is working from the bottom. Baker sitting in guard, not really doing much. #T1# Baker stands up over Simmons, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A head kick from Gane lands but Baker takes it in his stride. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Baker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gane's waist but Gane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Baker off to one side. Baker fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gane on the side of the head. Baker misses with a hook
and Gane counters with a left and a right that stings Baker . #CL2# Baker moves into the clinch. Gane landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A right hand to the body from Gane.
