#R1##CL2# Maccall gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Nunes tries to stall but Maccall uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
#TD2# Maccall has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nunes regains guard immediately. Maccall works a leg free and moves into half guard. Nunes is trying to stand up here but Maccall is controlling him well. Nunes trying to hold on to Maccall's head to control him but Maccall postures up.
Well, if Maccall is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Maccall trying to pass the guard but Nunes defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nunes wants to control the action here but instead Maccall manages to pass to full mount! #T1# Maccall controlling the position easily from mount. Maccall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nunes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nunes wants to hold on but Maccall pushes him away. Maccall fails to advance to Nunes's back. Nunes working to try and regain half guard.
#T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Maccall manages to capitalize on a mistake by Nunes to take his back! Maccall keeps control of the position easily here as Nunes tries to buck him off.

Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nunes. Maccall is pulling down on Nunes's head to control his posture. Nunes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maccall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maccall keeping moving, preventing Nunes from controlling successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Maccall manages to end up in side control. Nunes prevents Maccall from moving into mount. #T2# Maccall has control of an arm but Nunes manages to advance to Maccall's back! Maccall trying to control the action but Nunes just sinks the hooks in. Maccall rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nunes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Maccall keeps control of the position for the meantime. #SUB# Maccall makes his way to full guard, as Nunes worked for a kimura.

Maccall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Blood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Blood. Maccall is trying to drag Blood to the mat but Blood just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Blood manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Reiner Blood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zach Maccall. Maccall looking for a takedown. Blood scores with a shot to the side of Maccall's head. Blood lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Maccall or not. Blood working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Blood has Maccall pushed against the cage. Blood misses with a knee strike.

Blood scores with a crisp jab that stopped Maccall in his tracks. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maccall gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Blood gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Zach Maccall! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 6 losses; Neil Nucombe! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#CL2# Nucombe closes the distance and clinches. Maccall wants a takedown.
