He's pushed Kulku's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kulku fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aki Kulku. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Kulku closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kulku working away. Brands is trying to improve his position. Brands is trying to work for a sweep but Kulku has mounted him! Brands working to try and regain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brands regains half guard. Kulku throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Aki Kulku. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kulku, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Hughes lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Brands is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hughes pulls him back up using the underhooks. Hughes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Brands avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Brands is trying to drag Hughes to the mat but Hughes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Brands wants to break the clinch but can't.
Hughes tries to score a body lock takedown but Brands shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Hughes is working for takedown but Brands is calmly controlling the position for now. It looked like Posta was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Brands. Posta scores with a jab to the body. Posta shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brands eats them both and turns towards Posta to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Brands walks forward, straight into a front kick from Posta.#T4# Brands fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Posta throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Brands dives in and grabs Posta's left leg, looking for a takedown. Posta pushes down on Brands's head and hops out. Brands shoots in looking for a takedown. Posta tries to sprawl out of it but Brands keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Posta manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Posta connects with a single shot there.
And that's the end of the fight! Caulo Posta showed his dominance in that final round. Well Posta has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

It looked like Blackwater was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Brands. Nice takedown defense from Blackwater. No joy for Brands on that attempt.
