#R1# Hosman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rivera misses with a head kick.
#TD2# Hosman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rivera to the ground. Hosman is now in Rivera's guard. Rivera is wriggling around but Hosman manages to pass to half guard.
Hosman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hosman passes the guard and advances to mount! Hosman with a couple of short strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Hosman wants to finish this one by submission but Rivera is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hosman. This has been an exciting period of action! Hosman in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
#T1# Hosman landing strikes from the mount. Hosman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rivera looks a forlorn figure.
You get the feeling that Rivera really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Rivera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hosman on the ground.#SUB2# Hosman is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rivera has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hosman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hosman putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!#SUB2# Hosman with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
#T2# Hosman lands a heavy elbow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hosman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hosman is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Rivera is in real trouble.
Rivera is trying to get back to his feet but Hosman has full control of the position and if anything, Rivera has just worked his way into a worse spot. Hosman has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Rivera's body.
#SUB2# Hosman has managed to slip his arm under Rivera's chin. This could be all over... yep, Rivera is tapping out! Submission win for Hosman.
