Turpin's coach down at Ocean Ripples was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Turpin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Turpin lands the left hand. Hagler definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Turpin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Turpin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hagler misses with an uppercut
and Turpin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hagler moves away from the strike by Turpin. Hagler moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Turpin throws a lazy right hand but Hagler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Turpin throws a hook but Hagler blocks it. Hagler was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Turpin lands a jab. Turpin lands a glancing blow to the side of Hagler's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Turpin throws a shot from downtown. Hagler moves away and avoids it. The referee starts the count but I'm not sure it's necessary - Turpin isn't going to make it! The count reaches 10 and this fight is all over! Hagler screams and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmmm spit, everywhere. Lovely.

and Cotto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cotto walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Turpin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cotto at a distance.

enabling Cotto to counter with a crisp jab. Cotto avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Turpin throws a big shot that misses. Turpin looks to land a right hand but Cotto moved out of range. Nice shot by Turpin. Turpin misses with a left hand and Cotto counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Turpin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Turpin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Cotto throws an overhand right that lands on Turpin's shoulder, as Turpin tries to avoid the shot. Cotto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Turpin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jones Jr saw that one coming. Turpin tests Jones Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot. Turpin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Turpin wants it to stay on the feet. Turpin throws out a loose jab but Jones Jr uses good head movement to avoid it. Jones Jr is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Turpin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jones Jr. Jones Jr circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Turpin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jones Jr throws a head kick that misses. Jones Jr gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Jones Jr blocks a jab. Jones Jr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Turpin throws a hook but Jones Jr avoids it easily. Jones Jr uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Turpin. Jones Jr looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Turpin looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones Jr is just out of range. Jones Jr tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Jones Jr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Turpin pinned against the ropes. Turpin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Turpin jabbing away but nothing is landing. As Turpin backs off Jones Jr throws a huge counter combo but Turpin manages to avoid it all. Nice body punch from Turpin. A big right from Turpin misses. Jones Jr keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Turpin. Jones Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Turpin gets double underhooks and turns Jones Jr into the ropes. A telegraphed right hand from Turpin misses the target. Turpin misses with a looping right. A cross from Turpin lands. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Turpin connects with a nice looking jab.

Nice defenses there by Jones Jr. And Jones Jr tries to counter it with a takedown but Turpin pushes his down on his head and steps out. Turpin moves into range and connects with a jab. Turpin throws an overhand right that lands on Jones Jr's shoulder, as Jones Jr tries to avoid the shot. Roy Jones Jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones Jr throws a right and a left that Turpin avoids nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Randy Turpin showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Turpin, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
