and McGarvey makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Hurme tries to clinch but McGarvey moves out of range. Jani Hurme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Hurme with that takedown attempt. Jab, jab by McGarvey - just one landing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGarvey pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hurme is out of range and McGarvey settles back down. McGarvey walks into a straight right hand from Hurme. Hurme tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McGarvey is able to avoid easily.#T1# McGarvey moves out of range of the body kick. McGarvey appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hurme tries to bum rush McGarvey with a series of wild strikes but McGarvey uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hurme throws a lazy right hand but McGarvey sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. McGarvey tried to counter with a leg kick but Hurme avoided it. McGarvey lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Hurme misses with a hook. Hurme lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McGarvey shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hurme lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McGarvey has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McGarvey and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. McGarvey moves out of range as Hurme strikes. McGarvey looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.#T3# McGarvey ducks under a wild hook from Hurme. As Hurme looks to move away, McGarvey throws a big counter combo but Hurme just gets out of the way. McGarvey drops his hands momentarily and Hurme takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Hurme looks to land a combination. McGarvey sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Hurme throws a sloppy head kick and McGarvey moves out of range easily. McGarvey misses with a looping right. Hurme lands with a right hand. McGarvey drops his hands momentarily and Hurme takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. #CL2# Hurme fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGarvey, pushing him back against the cage.#T4# McGarvey is trying to break the clinch but Hurme has him pressed against the cage. #BC# McGarvey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hurme is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McGarvey had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Hurme falls off balance throwing a combination
and McGarvey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hurme misses with a leg kick and McGarvey counters with a big right hand! Oh Hurme is in trouble here! McGarvey follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

That was a close round but I would say that Jani Hurme will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Grant has his takedown stuffed and Hurme counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hurme moves away from the strike by Grant. Hurme appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Hurme scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Grant doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hurme throws a leg kick which misses Grant's front leg but catches the back leg as Grant tries to avoid it. Hurme connects with the punch. Grant wants to clinch up but Hurme keeps it at a distance. Grant tries to clinch but Hurme is having none of it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hurme connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Grant takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Grant wants to clinch.#T1# Hurme scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Grant doesn't seem bothered though. Grant misses with a takedown attempt and Hurme counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Grant is lucky that one didn't land flush. #R1# Hurme lands with a hook. Yamato tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Jani Hurme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yamato looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Hurme throws a one two combo.
Hurme definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hurme scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Yamato doesn't seem bothered though. #KD# Oooooh!!! Hurme has knocked Yamato down with a huge combo! Hurme steps away and waves a wobbly Yamato back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC#Yamato is rocked! Hurme connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. #TD2# Turmarrov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hurme was covering up waiting for the punch and Turmarrov finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hurme has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Turmarrov has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Turmarrov tries to pull guard but Hurme won't allow it.

One landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. One wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurme keeps working. One scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hurme is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and One can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
