And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Esad Aliev! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Aliev stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aliev wants it to stay on the feet. Aliev stuffs the takedown. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Aliev is defended easily by Anderson. Aliev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anderson pinned against the cage. Anderson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Aliev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Anderson defends well and Aliev ends up having to push Anderson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Nick Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esad Aliev. Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown. Aliev tries to sprawl out of it but Anderson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aliev manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Anderson seems keen to control Aliev's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anderson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Aliev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
