#R1# Dux throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Li counters with a nice uppercut. Dux misses with a hook to the body
and Li counters with a nice uppercut. Li has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dux finds it's way round the side to connect with Li's head. Good exchange - Dux coming out on top. Dux lands with a shot to the body. Dux lands a lovely overhand right.#CUT#It looks like Bruce Li has been cut. Li takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Dux cracks a nice hook into Li's ribs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Li misses with a looping right. Li on the wrong end of a nice hook. Dux moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Li throws a hook but Dux avoids it easily. It looked like Dux wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Dux clobbers Li with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Dux scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Li doesn't seem bothered though. Dux misses the shot to the body. Dux moves out of range as Li strikes. Dux swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Li fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dux looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Li looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.#T1# Dux's jab looks to have found its range, popping Li under the eye. Dux ducks under a wild hook from Li. Dux scores with a nice strike. A left lands for Li. Li ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Dux on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Li throws the left hand but Dux avoids the punch easily. A shot to the liver by Li. Beautiful body shot. Dux lands a slapping body shot.
Dux lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Li takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Li ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dux moves away. A cross from Dux lands. Dux misses with a right hand and Li connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Li rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dux counters with a right hand to the body. Dux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
#T2# Dux lands the left hand. Li takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Li throws a shot to the body.
Dux punishes Li's body with a nice straight punch. Dux fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Li on the side of the head. Dux definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Dux misses with a looping right. Dux misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Li.
Dux takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Li scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Dux misses with a hook
and Dux takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dux is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Dux throws out a loose jab but Li uses good head movement to avoid it. Dux bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Li's head backwards. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dux misses with an uppercut. Dux is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Dux drops his hands momentarily and Li takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Dux throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Li slips a straight right by Dux.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Dux showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dux has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

#R1# Crespo throws a shot from downtown. Li moves away and avoids it. It looked like Li wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A decent looking cross lands there for Li. Li lands a jab-cross combination. Bruce Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Li cracks Crespo with a right hand to the side of the head. A shot to the liver by Crespo. Beautiful body shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Li. Crespo does a little dance to reset his feet. Crespo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Li avoids the body shot from Crespo.
Nice defenses there by Li. Li throws a good cross that connects.
Crespo swings and misses with a shot to the body enabling Li to counter with a crisp jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crespo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. #ROC#Crespo is rocked! Li scores with a jab. Crespo acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Crespo is still on wobbly legs! Can Li finish him? Crespo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Li manages to avoid it. Li lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Crespo is looking to close the distance but Li sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Crespo crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Crespo is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Bruce Li! A relieved looking Bruce Li thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
