Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Sloppy strikes from Cannon. Those never looked like landing. Right looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.#TD2# Cannon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Right to score an easy takedown into full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Right makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Right loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzalez is looking for the big counter here. Cannon is breathing heavily. Gonzalez with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gonzalez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cannon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Gonzalez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cannon circles away quickly and effectively. Cannon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Gonzalez feints a jab promting Cannon to slip. Gonzalez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cannon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#CUT2#It looks like Trey Cannon has been cut.#KD2# Gonzalez lands a left and a right that send Cannon crashing to the mat, dazed. Gonzalez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Some wild striking there from Gonzalez.

Langdon is trying to control the action in half guard but Cannon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Langdon passes to side control. Cannon stops Langdon from passing to mount. Langdon is working hard here to advance position. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannon gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Langdon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cannon is looking to escape. #SUB# Langdon working for a guillotine from mount but Cannon is in no mood to give up. #R1# Mode fails with the takedown and Cannon counters with a two punch combo. Cannon throws a series of punches but Mode avoids them all with ease. Nice sprawl there from Cannon as Mode shoots in. Sloppy strikes from Cannon. Those never looked like landing. Cannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mode. Cannon tries to bum rush Mode with a series of wild strikes but Mode uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mode tries to clinch and Cannon counters with a two punch combo. Mode wants to clinch. Mode shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cannon pinned against the cage. Cannon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Beast Mode. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# No luck for Mode with that takedown attempt. #TD# Mode fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cannon sprawls well initially but Mode persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Mode is figuring out what he wants to do next. And Cannon tries to counter it with a takedown but Mode pushes his down on his head and steps out. Mode is breathing heavily. Mode fails with the takedown. Cannon's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cannon duly obliges. #T4# Cannon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mode circles away quickly and effectively. Cannon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Cannon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cannon has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#CL# Mode clinches up against the cage.
