Petrov moves in looking to clinch but Bess pushes him off.
Bess thuds a left hand into Petrov's body.
Petrov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bess circles away quickly and effectively.
Bess appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Bess changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bess misses with a few strikes there.
Bess dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bess feints a jab promting Petrov to slip. Bess then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Petrov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Petrov throws a body punch but Bess moves out of range.
Petrov takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Bess throws a series of punches but Petrov moves out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Petrov tries to clinch
and Bess counters with a right hand to the body.
Bess lands an overhand right.

Bess lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Bess throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Petrov stumbling backwards into the cage! Petrov bounces back off the cage towards Bess, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Bess lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Bess celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Dominick Bess!
In his post fight interview, Dominick Bess started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Petrov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Griggs is defending well for now.

Petrov is trying to pull guard but Griggs turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Petrov is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Griggs screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Resi stuffs the takedown.
Petrov tries to clinch there but Resi circles away. #TD#
Petrov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Petrov landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Resi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Resi pushes Petrov off looking to stand but Petrov dives back in and keeps control.
Petrov stalling.
Petrov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Resi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB#
Petrov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Petrov working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Resi is doing well to defend. Petrov seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Resi is forced to tap and this one is over!

Kingdad sizes up Petrov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Nice cross by Kingdad.
Petrov shoots in looking for a takedown. Kingdad tries to sprawl out of it but Petrov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kingdad manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kingdad is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kingdad uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Petrov has time to react.
Lionheart Kingdad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petrov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Petrov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Petrov closes the distance and clinches up with Kingdad, looking for a takedown. Petrov pushes Kingdad against the cage but Kingdad circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yahir Petrov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
