#R1##CL2# Jones closes the distance and clinches. #TD2# Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Popik uses from the top position. Popik trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Popik is looking to pass into half guard but Jones pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jones is in guard.#REVB##SUB# Popik has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jones should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Popik has tightened it up now! Jones should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Eliasz Popik! A relieved looking Eliasz Popik thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
