Acosta tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Slivers lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Slivers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Acosta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slivers paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Johnny Slivers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slivers clobbers Acosta with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Acosta fails with an attempt to clinch.

Slivers looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

MacDonald uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Slivers.
MacDonald throws a nice looking combination but Slivers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
It seemed like Slivers was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Slivers lands with a hook. Penn tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Penn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Slivers connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Penn scrambles back to his feet.
Slivers fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Penn looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Penn takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Donk. Slivers catches Penn right on the button with a cross.
Slivers ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#TD2#
Penn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slivers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.#SUB2#
Penn is working to tighten his grip on Slivers's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Slivers has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Penn is really squeezing tight and eventually Slivers passes out! Penn breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
