Simon pulls House in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as House accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. House pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Simon is keeping the position for now. #T1# House is looking to pass into half guard but Simon pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Simon is in guard.#REVR# Simon passes easily into side control. Karter House showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! He's working for the Kimura, can House defend it? Simon steps over the head and cranks it - House is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Simon!

Lucas Lopez had a terrible time trying to make weight. After initially coming in at 148.4, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. Stepping on the scales for a second time, he still failed to make the required weight and after much deliberation, his fight with Jake Simon was cancelled. |

#R1# Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Simon with a poor takedown and Meril counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meril scores with a one two! Simon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.#T1# Meril stuns Simon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Meril is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Simon doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Meril counter with a right hand. #T2# Simon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Meril but Meril pushes him off and we're back to square one. Meril throws a big counter combination but Simon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Jon Meril has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Simon. Simon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.#T3# Meril scores with a three punch combo!

And that's the end of the fight! Jon Meril showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Meril, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
